The Syllabus for Success
Welcome to class, Copy Cow students! Today we’re diving into the nitty-gritty of file types. We know it sounds about as exciting as watching paint dry, but getting this right is the difference between a print that looks “meh” and one that looks WOW. Let’s get your files prepped for the Dean’s List!
📸 The Visuals: Images
We accept all the usual suspects: JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and BMP. But here is the golden rule of printing: Resolution is everything!
To make sure your images don’t turn out blurry or pixelated (the horror!), please send us photos with a resolution of at least 150 dpi (dots per inch). However, if you really want to impress the professor, aim for 300 dpi—that is the sweet spot for crisp, professional quality.
- Pro-Tip: Please avoid grabbing images straight from the internet. They are usually low-resolution and will look grainy when printed. Stick to high-res originals for the best grade!
📄 The Paperwork: Digital Documents
We are pretty versatile when it comes to files! We accept:
- PDF (Our absolute favorite! This is the preferred format.)
- EPS
- Microsoft Office files
- Microsoft Publisher
- Adobe Creative Suite files
- Open Office
- Microsoft Works
The Fine Print (Because there’s always a fine print)
Since Microsoft files can sometimes be a little… unpredictable when moving from screen to print, we will always send you a PDF proof first. This is just to make sure everything looks exactly how you imagined it before we hit the big green “print” button.
